Mr. Donia is an entrepreneur, and financial services executive, who Co-Founded IdealRatings in San Francisco in 2006 to become the leading provider serving the Islamic finance industry as well as Social Responsible and ESG investments industry. Today, IdealRatings is known as one of the top global providers serving clients around the world. Prior to IdealRatings Mr. Donia was Co-Founder of Cogency Inc, a silicon valley start-up, where he helped define Cogency solutions for the hedge funds and fund of funds firms to become a leading solution provider with some of the world’s largest hedge funds and fund of funds as clients. Prior to Cogency, Mr. Donia was Vice President of Applications at TenFold corporation, a silicon valley start-up, which IPO’ed on NASDAQ in 1999, where he was responsible for leading customer engagements for Fortune 500 customers in the financial services, banking, insurance, and energy verticals. Mr. Donia held several management positions at PepsiCo, and started his career at Proctor and Gamble. Mr. Donia holds a B.SC in Computer Engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.

Magdy Eissa joined IdealRatings in 2010 with extensive experience in financial data and global investment firms. Previously the MENA Regional Manager for ISI Emerging Markets (Euromoney), he led the expansion of CEIC databases and the early development of IFIS. Magdy holds a BSc in Business Administration and postgraduate BIT studies from Middlesex University, London.

With over 12 years of experience in financial fintech, he previously led trading application projects at ITWorx. He holds a BSc. in Engineering from Ain Shams University and an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management.

Ariff Sultan joined IdealRatings in 2012, leading Asian Sales and Operations from Singapore. A specialist in Shariah and conventional indices, he previously held senior roles at Russell Indexes and Dow Jones Indexes. With 17 years of fintech experience at firms like Misys and Deloitte, Ariff holds a Master of Business (IT) from RMIT University and a Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance from IIUM.

Abdul-Rahman Hammad joined IdealRatings in 2012, bringing extensive sales leadership experience across the Middle East financial sector. Previously Sales Manager at Advanced Operations Technology and KnowledgeNet, he specialized in market penetration and order management systems for GCC institutions. He holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from Applied Science University and an MBA.

An early IdealRatings member since 2008, Maha Mohamed developed the firm’s research methodology and processes. Currently, she leads the Islamic Finance Research, Sukuk, and Fundamental teams, ensuring accurate, cost-effective delivery and operational efficiency. Previously, she was a Senior Quality Engineer at ITWorx. She holds a BSc in Computer Science from Ain Shams University.

Since joining IdealRatings in 2012, Lobna El-Sawi has pioneered the firm’s Sukuk product development and currently leads the ESG Research and Islamic Finance Fixed Income teams. With over 14 years of experience, she notably integrated AI tools to boost research effectiveness by 300%. She holds a Bachelor of Economics and Political Science from Cairo University in Egypt.

Joining IdealRatings in 2012, May Taher led the development of the Customer Success, Shariah Audit, and Live4 Product Management teams. With 13 years of experience, she optimizes Islamic Finance product operations and manages external data licensing. Previously, she worked in management and marketing consulting. She holds a Master’s degree from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University.

Mahinaz El-Aasser joined IdealRatings in 2014 to launch the ESG Product, developing its research methodology and roadmap. Previously, she was Head of Analysis at IFIS (Euromoney), managing global teams across Egypt, Malaysia, and London. She has contributed significantly to the Islamic Finance sector through data analysis. She holds honors undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Economics.

Mohamed Rabie joined IdealRatings in 2021, overseeing the firm’s development teams and technical architecture to ensure the scalable delivery of fintech solutions. He brings a strong background in software engineering and technical leadership to drive product innovation and infrastructure excellence. Mohamed is a graduate of Zagazig University in Information Systems and Technology.
